The college application process has never been more complicated, and the level of competition for admission to top schools has never been fiercer. The media feeds into this frenzy with the annual U.S. News & World Report's “America’s Best Colleges,” and students and parents are left feeling more stressed and confused than informed.

To help address this situation, Admiral has developed a unique college counseling program that builds on and continues the relationship our students have formed with their SAT tutors.

Working together, the tutor and Admiral's Certified College Counselor develop an advising program that will guide your student through the college process. This includes:

• Student and parent meetings with counselor and tutor.
• Advice on high school courses, with an eye on what colleges are expecting of their applicants.
• A personalized timeline for each student, including testing dates, which tests to take, visiting schools, getting applications, practicing essays, etc.
• Practice interviews and preparation of the “brag sheet.”
• Clarification of the “admissions game”: Early decision vs. rolling admissions vs. early action vs. regular admissions. Sorting out the steps and the terminology.
• Researching the elements most important for your personal college search.
• Guidance through the entire application process, including essay topic selection and editing.

The counselor brings her specific expertise, and the tutor brings his relationship with the student, and what you get is a team that works directly for your student—the Admiral way.
