ACT

Increasing numbers of students are turning to the ACT, which ALL colleges and universities in America now accept as an alternative to the SAT.

WHAT IS THE ACT?

It's a standardized test, taken by high school juniors and seniors, that gives colleges some indication of your level of academic preparation. Unlike the SAT, the ACT is curriculum-based, which means it measures what you can do with what you have learned.

  • WHAT SUBJECTS ARE TESTED?
  • English
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Science Reasoning

HOW LONG IS THE ACT ?

The ACT is three and one-half hours. Each section is 90 minutes.

HOW MUCH DOES THE TEST COST?

The standard fee is $24. This fee can be waived for qualifying students. Ask your school college counselor for help.

The ACT is three and one-half hours.

Admiral has found that the best way to teach the ACT is one-on-one in the students' own homes.

Why one-on-one? Simply because this is what works best. Why should your student waste his or her valuable time [and your valuable money!] in a classroom, reviewing English, when what he or she needs help in is Science Reasoning? Admiral instructors zero in on each student's specific strengths and weaknesses, and work precisely in the areas where the students need it most.

Why at home? Because in our hectic world, this is the most effective way to save our students time, to say nothing of driving

How many sessions? Our standard ACT courses range from 6 to 12 hours of instruction.

How much does it cost? The cost is $100/hour. Occasionally two students will work together, and the fee for that is $80/hour each; or three, for $60/hour each.

Why Admiral? The high level of our instructors, first and foremost, all of whom are college graduates, many of whom hold advanced degrees, and all of whom are carefully selected to serve as role models for the students as well as academic coaches.

Admiral advises students to take the ACT in the second semester of your junior year, and then if necessary, in the first semester of your senior year. Most students' scores increase the second time they take the test.
